Angie Brooks studied art at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and the New World School of the Arts in Miami. Although, it was through her travels that she had her own personal renaissance and began to create art.
"I remember standing in front of La Primavera by Botticelli and weeping." I returned to the states a different person. It changed my life.
She has worked as an artist for over 20 years, owning her own decorative art business, creating custom art and mural commissions, and fine art.
Using many mediums, from plaster, encaustic, ink, canvas, paper, text, organic pigments, oils, metal leaf; she creates expressionistic organic imagery that explores themes of the sacred human spirit and it's journey, ancient cultures, symbolism, language, poetry, divinity, inter-connectedness and nature.
"My sensitivity to culture, nature and life is always evolving, and my path continues as an emerging artist. Free to explore. Free to be. Each new work is a new journey to be creative, to be whole and connect to life ~ and my creative energy."
She is also an accomplished free-lance writer, published in Parent and Child magazine and a featured artist in Casa y Estilo International, Naples Illustrated, Bonita Living, Neapolitan Family, News-Press, Palm Tree Press, and the Bonita Banner.
She is a chapter leader for Kids for Peace, mommy, volunteer, activist, blogger, culture seeker, and citizen of the world.

"As a mother of three youngsters, I commissioned Angie Brooks to help me create imaginative, calming, and memorable works of art on their bedroom walls. Attempting to avoid the pitfalls of trendy wallpaper and posters, I had Angie talk to each of my children about what they'd like to lie in bed and see as they drifted off to sleep each night. One daughter picked bold stripes and Hawaiian flowers as she wanted to remember a family vacation that included a luau; another picked deep greens and golds in a camouflage pattern. The youngest was the trickiest, however, because she wanted every animal she loved to greet her each morning as she woke. So Angie took each wall and made it into a treasure trove of undersea fish and sea mammals, a woodsy area filled with kind and wise wolves and otters. A third wall had a potpourri of favorites: birds, butterflies, dragonflies, mice and trees. Our favorite, however, was a small area containing an enchanted forest with lifelike, albeit tiny animals all contained within a storybook frame. No one entered that room without remarking on the warmth and beauty Angie's work generated.
Our family recently moved from that home and of the very few things we miss, Angie's work stands out as tops on our list. We had other walls and cabinets custom painted by Angie and the buyers commented more than once that it was the beautiful work we had done transforming average looking oak cabinets into beautiful works of art the deep colors of portobello with a silver rub in our kitchen that sold them. From Italianate finishes in hallways, to the exquisite transformation of a kitchen, all the way to charming bedrooms, Angie Brooks helped me turn our nice house into a lovely home. We may have taken credit for it at the closing table, but we knew it was Angie who made our walls and cabinets true reflections of good taste.
Easy to work with, reliable, and even fun (a rare quality in a contract worker!), Angie Brooks provides custom creativity and thoughtfulness to her work. She is an artist who cares about the client and her finished work. It is a passion for Angie, and not a job. She is more than a professional, she is an artisan. -K. Tikijian
-Angie is a talented artist, a passionate teacher and one of the best employees I have ever had the pleasure of working with. In a staff of 28... Angie stood out from the crowd...Angie's artistic talent and energy is boundless. I recommend Angie without any reservation for any position that allows her to display her considerable art talent, and/or teach children or adults the craft she has clearly mastered. - Eric Meyer, Director, South Breeze Day Camp.
LinkedIN- “Angie is a very detail-oriented and consciencious worker. I had occasion to work with Angie on several projects, and she was always professional and courteous, and often acted as a liaison for my company working directly with clients.” March 11, 2010 -Rene Schuler
